God morning brothers & sisters...
Today as I had my J.A.M. (Jesus & me time), I was drawn to a scripture shared with me... it just pulled me in. So, I sat & chatted with Jesus about it. I started with “Why did you place this Word before me today?”
You see, as an intuitive, empathic extrovert it is VERY easy to get distracted. If you are anything like me you can relate to a day where you are constantly trying to deflect, leap over and avoid all of the worldly “noise” clambering for your attention. From quick fix diets, to get rich in a moment, to get your education fast programs... it is noise. The crashing noise of politics, the pandemic, the social media platforms... noise too! The enemy is ALWAYS trying to use ALL of these “worldly” distractions to move our eyes from the one place it should be focused on... The Kingdom.
Let us delve into the scripture I was drawn to in Habakkuk this morning, paying specific attention to the Lord’s directive in these “noisy” times.
“I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint.
The Lord’s Answer...
Then the Lord replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. “See, the enemy is puffed up; his desires are not upright— but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness —” - Habakkuk 2:1-4 NIV
Brothers and sisters, if we are to broadcast, tweet, go live, share a story... let it be about the One Savior, our God Almighty and not a false idol drawing your focus from Him. Yep... social media and the like IS an idol if it is stealing your focus on the Lord.
Let us not try to fix anything without His direction. He WILL give you the right steps, in the right direction in just the right timing.
Let us get distracted ONLY by His voice . Let the dopamine our spirit + soul + body long for be His most perfect, everlasting LOVE. I mean REALLY receive it!! 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.
Let us be filled by The Holy Spirit so that all of the fruits of that Spirit that we all have inside us light up one-by-one like a Christmas tree... shining bright outwardly for all to see. Allow them to see Jesus through us... overflowing in our actions, words, and in the way we LOVE.
Brothers and sisters, this week let us truly silent ourselves and be VERY discerning with our attention... may our target that our eyes, heart , mind and breath is focused on be ONLY the Lord. May it bring us the peace we so desperately long for.
“The Lord is in his holy temple; let all the earth be silent before him.” - Habakkuk 2:20 NIV
In His Love,
