Brothers & sisters,
I don’t know about you, but I love this verse. It serves as a reminder that sharing the Gospel does not need to come with “Bible thumping”, arguments, or without love, compassion or empathy.
“What blessing comes to you when gentleness lives in you! For you will inherit the earth.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭5‬ ‭TPT‬‬
Instead, as this scripture shares, it comes from a place of love, shared through the guidance of the Spirit, with all the nutrients, the elements, of the Fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self control).
Can you think of one person in your life that leads with gentleness? If so, how do they handle themselves amidst adversity, disagreements, chaos, uncertainty — all those things the enemy brings to our flesh?
For me, I automatically think of my beloved Viking Rick Ingraham, my gentle giant. (Shhh… don’t tell him I exposed his soft underbelly! )
In all seriousness though, my Viking is my rock in this earthly world. He calms me when my roaring lioness ways surface, he speaks truth but in a very gentle way without placing blame or shame. He shows compassion and empathy even when I might not be worthy of such. He shares appropriate scripture for CONSIDERATION, not to force feed it to me. He poses questions for me to ponder, meditate on, and pray about.  He loves me BIG as Jesus asked us to… even if + even when + even then, love them anyway.  He reminds me that God loves me unconditionally and that Jesus, theough His stripes, paid for my sins and has given me absolute healing, complete, full Sozo in ALL and EVERY part of my life— spirit + soul + body. But most of all, my Viking leads me back to Jesus.  In tough times and reminds me to pray and talk to Jesus FIRST.
This photo says it all about my husband, my gentle Viking King. He is calm, peace-filled, knows he is loved by the Lord. He allows Jesus’ love and peace to comfort Him always. He allows the Holy Spirit to guide him. He allows others to see Jesus through him, in all he does, says and the way he loves them.
“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭15‬ ‭NIV‬‬
Brothers and sisters, my prayer for us all today.
Lord, thank you for being our Lord and savior. Thank you for giving us our guide, the Holy Spirit, to help guide us in challenging times. We ask for continued guidance as we move forward. Please allow us to continue to share the Good News we know to be true. Help us to remove our flesh and our ego as we share with others. Let us do so with meekness (gentleness) even when what we share falls on death ears today. Please remind us that the seeds we sow today are yours to nurture and help grow. Please let us walk in your grace, love and peace so that all we connect with shall see You in all we say and so. And most of all, let our steps always bring honor to God. We love You and pray these things in Your Son’s most precious name, Jesus.  Amen.
Shalom shalom (God’s most perfect peace and love) to you all.
xo, The Lioness
