In Day 8 of our 40-Day Journey with Jesus: A Lenten Reflection, we begin with 2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV

Have you ever felt lost, alone, with no one to turn to lend a hand to help you out of a situation you were in?

If so, you are not alone.

Today’s scripture reminds us that, even when we feel alone in our earthly home, Jesus is always our willing kinsman-redeemer.

“God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV

When we read of this scripture, we immediately go to a story of sacrifice from the Bible that we recently reread. If you have never read the story of Ruth from the Old Testament, please take a moment and pause from reading this article and hop over to this beautiful story that foreshadows Jesus’ willingness to become our kinsman-redeemer. In this story, you will find many parallels to how Jesus has provided for us when we couldn’t for ourselves. In other words, He is our brother, our kin, who willingly agreed to step in and was able, due to His sinless life, to fully pay the price to save us.

We invite you to join us as we dive deeper into this beautiful story of Ruth and her kinsman-redeemer, Boaz. As we do, we will discuss how we now too have a kinsman-redeemer that has paid our debt and freed us. We hope that God speaks to you through this podcast today and draws you closer to Him and fills you with His peace and love.

In His precious love,

Shalom shalom (perfect peace)
