In Day 19 of our 40-Day Journey with Jesus: A Lenten Reflection, we begin with Romans 6:11-13 NIV.
Dear brothers & sisters,
On our Journey with Jesus during this Lenten season our eyes have been opened to the sinful nature we were born TO because of the disobedience of Adam causing the fall and for death to reign on all of his descendants. It is woven into our DNA, much like a genetic disease, because of Adam’s sin. We are sinners therefore we sin.
BUT God… He knew Adam was going to sin before he did and couldn’t allow sin to run rampant throughout all eternity. So, God, acting as our Great Physician, sent Jesus as the cure to annihilate our sin. Jesus was the only way.
Now that He won the war for us, it is our responsibility to remain free from sin and not allow the enemy’s temptations to get a foothold in our heart. You might be asking… “How do I do this in such a fallen world, with temptation all around me?” Join us as we discuss these things and more on today’s podcast.

“In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.” Romans 6:11-13 NIV
